Wedding Wednesday: Sweet & Succulent

Since I did a winter wedding theme last week for Wedding Wednesday, I thought that it would be fun to do a wedding theme for warmer climates this week.

Now that I'm living in a rather hot climate myself, in South Australia, I'm learning to appreciate plants that do not need much water to survive and thrive. (Especially since I'm really not much of a "green thumb"!) One such type of plant is succulents. These little beauties are perfect for hot dry climates, and they come in so many shapes and colours. If you live in a cooler climate, you can grow them in pots in a sunny window. They really are gorgeous.

Succulents are becoming popular for weddings. As you can see by the images above, they are quite versatile for floral arrangements. Whether they are styled into fabulous bouquets, tucked into a bride's up-do, or handed out as easy-to-care-for favours for guests to take home, succulents make a wonderful theme for weddings.

The Liebster Award!

Thank you so very much to Elle from Barefoot And Beautiful for awarding me a Liebster Award for lamb & blonde! I'm so happy to have my blog noticed, and I feel honoured to be chosen for this award.

The Liebster Award is meant for up-and-coming bloggers whose blogs have 200 or fewer followers. If you are a recipient of this award, you are encouraged to choose 5 blogs to give the award to, based on those criteria, with links to their blogs. Also, please link back to the blogger who awarded it to you.

I have chosen five blogs which I really enjoy spending time looking at, and which I feel have a unique voice. Each blog is so lovely, in their own way, and created by such lovely people.

I'm very happy to give the Liebster Award to:

Now go check them out! Seriously. They are all delightful to behold.

Cheers!

We had quite a memorable holiday weekend, to put it mildly. Let's just say that Glen and I are very glad to be returning to our normal life together, minus the stress of Christmas.

I learned how to prepare prawns, when we made them for Christmas Eve dinner, with Glen's daughters. I must say, I don't ever plan to do that again! Beheading my food is not something I would like to repeat. Next time, we plan to buy prawns already prepared and cooked.

Lots of light summery foods and delicious wines were enjoyed this weekend, including a tasty sparkling shiraz and a lovely dessert wine (wish I knew which grape it was). We made two kinds of ice creams, strawberry and hazelnut, which went over quite well, especially the hazelnut one. We will definitely be making another batch of that soon.

I'm still feeling festive, and looking forward to enjoying New Year's Eve, which has always been one of my favourite holidays of the year. Bring on the bubbly!

Cheers! Hope you're all having a wonderful holiday week!

P.S. I almost forgot to mention that the image above was from a window display designed by Eddie Ross for "The Modern Woman" themed window challenge by Elle Decor for Bloomingdale's in 2010. I love the shimmering mirrors and glass, as well as the colour scheme of pink, blue, and gold. What a fabulous room vignette! (image found here)

I'm in the mood for glam and sexy red dresses for FFF, perfect for the holidays!

Last year, my wonderful man and I enjoyed our first Christmas together, and I wore a red dress. It was just a little cotton sundress, but it still looked quite glamorous in comparison to anything else I had in my closet. Normally, I am not a big fan of the colour red, but I do wear it now and then, if the mood strikes me.

Christmas, this year, will be a very family-oriented occasion. So I will be dressing a bit more demurely than I did last year.

Wishing you all a fun and fabulous holiday! Cheers!

A moment to relax...

With the holiday season upon us, and Christmas just a few short days away, I'm sure many of you are feeling a bit stressed out (I know I am!). So here is a relaxing little space, to help take your mind off of the fervor of festivity that's going on.

Wedding Wednesday: Winter Wedding

I'm dreaming of a winter wedding...

It is getting to be quite hot here, as it is summer in Australia, and I'm (almost!) missing snow.

I've read that the holiday season is one of the most popular times of the year to get engaged. So maybe those of you who are newly-betrothed will enjoy these snowy wedding images as much as I do.

Cheers!
